How we moderate content, protect your data, and keep PigeonChat a safe place to connect. No legalese β just plain language.
Content Moderation
Every message and media upload passes through automated content filters before delivery.
Our AI moderation agent reviews flagged reports around the clock, scoring risk levels and categorising violations so human reviewers can act quickly.
We enforce a zero-tolerance policy on illegal content, harassment, hate speech, and spam.
Enforcement actions (warnings, mutes, bans) are logged and auditable by our admin team.
Data We Collect
Account basics β your name, email, and optional profile details you choose to share.
Messages and media you send, stored so your conversations sync across devices.
Usage signals β last-seen timestamps, device type, and feature-interaction counts β to improve the product.
We never sell your data to advertisers or third-party data brokers.
How We Protect It
All traffic is encrypted in transit via TLS 1.3.
Passwords are hashed with bcrypt; we never store them in plaintext.
Sessions are short-lived and server-validated; compromised tokens are revoked instantly.
Two-factor authentication (TOTP) and WebAuthn passkeys are available for every account.
Rate-limiting and request guards protect every API endpoint against abuse.
Community Standards
Be respectful β personal attacks, doxxing, and targeted harassment lead to immediate suspension.
No spam or bulk unsolicited messages. Automated accounts must be clearly labelled.
Keep conversations legal β do not share or solicit illegal content of any kind.
Respect intellectual property β do not distribute copyrighted material without permission.
Report violations using the in-app report button; every report is reviewed.
Your Rights
Download your data β a full export of your profile, messages, and activity is available from Profile & Settings β Privacy & Data.
Delete your account β soft-deletion hides your profile and blocks access while retaining data for legal obligations. Request permanent erasure by contacting support.
Correct your information β edit your profile details at any time.
Object to processing β contact us if you believe your data is being handled incorrectly.
Enforcement & Appeals
Violations are handled proportionally: first offences typically receive a warning; repeat or severe violations result in temporary or permanent bans.
Banned users receive a clear reason and may appeal via our support channel.
We publish aggregated enforcement statistics periodically (coming soon) so the community can see how standards are upheld.
Our Commitment
We will keep this page updated whenever our practices change.
We will notify users of material policy changes via in-app announcements.
We welcome feedback β reach out through the Contact page or the in-app support chat.
